Elementary Art in Íøºì±¬ÁÏ
The primary focus of the Íøºì±¬ÁÏ Elementary Art program is to develop students’ artistic understanding and creative skills through hands-on art-making and visual exploration. Student artwork and exhibitions are a natural and appropriate outcome of this learning and reflect grade-level instruction and classroom experiences. The Elementary Art program is supported by district-aligned curriculum resources, including Yearly Planning Guides (YPGs), unit plans, assessment tools, vocabulary supports, and instructional materials aligned to TEKS and district expectations. These resources provide a strong instructional foundation while allowing teachers the flexibility to adapt lessons to meet the needs of their students and classrooms, ensuring both consistency and creative autonomy across Íøºì±¬ÁÏ elementary art classrooms.
Elementary Music in Íøºì±¬ÁÏ
The primary focus of the Íøºì±¬ÁÏ Elementary Music program is to teach students musical understanding and artistic skills through active music-making. Student performances are a natural and appropriate outcome of this learning and reflect grade-level instruction and classroom experiences. In addition to grade-level programs, elementary campuses offer school-wide choir opportunities, and some campuses provide additional musical ensembles for students in the upper elementary grades.
