Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 Applications and Transfers
Applications for eligible and tuition-based students open on April 1 and remain available on an ongoing basis until the campus reaches capacity.
Families may apply for their child to attend a Pre-K3 or Pre-K4 program at a campus other than their zoned school, based on space availability.

- All Pre-K applications are created in .
- During the application process, families may rank up to three schools or programs in order of preference.
- To attend your zoned school, be sure to list it as one of your three ranked schools. Zoned students receive priority at their zoned campus.
- All Pre-K applications require additional documentation to determine eligibility.
- Eligibility for Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 programs is determined by the requested campus. For more information about eligibility go to our Pre-K website.

To complete your Pre-K application and process eligibility, please bring the following physical documents or legible copies:
Documents Required for Registration:
- Child’s Birth Certificate
- Child’s Immunization Record
- Child’s Social Security (optional)
- Parent/Guardian Photo ID
- Proof of Address (dated within 45 days)
- Electric
- Gas bill
- Water bill
- Lease agreement or Mortgage/Deed statement
Documents Needed to Determine Pre-K Eligibility—Read carefully
(Bring documents that apply to your family situation)
Income-Based Eligibility (REQUIRED FOR ALL Pre-K students). Provide one of the following:
- SNAP or TANF Benefits Letter (current)
OR
- Pay Stubs (within the last 30 days):
- Paid weekly → 4 consecutive pay stubs
- Paid bi-weekly → 3 consecutive pay stubs
- Paid twice monthly → 2 consecutive pay stubs
- Paid monthly → 1 pay stub
OR
- Most recent Tax Return (only if self-employed)
Other documentation needed (if applicable):
- Military → DoD ID or Active Duty Military Orders or Service-Connected Disability Letter (if applicable)
- Foster Care → Pre-K Eligibility Letter OR CPS documentation (2085 form or official letter)
- Star of Texas Award → Official Award Letter
- AISD Classroom Teacher Eligibility → AISD Badge, Employee ID, or District Email Verification
Important Reminder
Families must submit all required documents (upload or provide to the campus) for eligibility review. Eligibility may be determined on site if documents are provided at the event. On-site offers are only for eligible Pre-K4 students applying to their Home School. Incomplete documents may delay eligibility.

- Encuesta del idioma en el hogar (HLS)
- Evaluación preLAS (prueba de idioma)
3. Cuidado de crianza (Foster Care)
Proporcione uno de los siguientes:
- Carta de elegibilidad para Pre-K
- Formulario 2085E
- Documentos de otro estado que muestren la participación de CPS (Servicios de Protección Infantil)
4. Situación de falta de vivienda
- Cuestionario de residencia del estudiante
(debe completarse después del 1 de julio)
5. Familia militar
Servicio activo:
- Identificación militar u órdenes
(Nota: no se permite fotocopiar la identificación del Departamento de Defensa -DoD-) - La escuela completará un formulario de verificación militar
Herido o fallecido en cumplimiento del deber:
- Carta de discapacidad del Departamento de Asuntos de Veteranos (VA)

6. Padre/Madre es maestro(a) de aula (Íøºì±¬ÁÏ)
Debe comprobar empleo como maestro(a) de aula en Íøºì±¬ÁÏ.

Additional Information
- Guaranteed enrollment is only available for Pre-K4 students eligible for free Pre-K at their zoned school.
- Pre-K3 transfer students may continue at the same campus for Pre-K4 with guaranteed enrollment, but an application must be submitted for the following year. (Eligible and Tuition)
- IMPORTANT: If your child is a Pre-K4 transfer, they are not automatically guaranteed a seat in Kindergarten at the same school. You will need to submit a new application, which will be considered according to transfer priorities and available space in Kindergarten.
- Exception: Students enrolled in a Dual Language program may continue at the same school for Kindergarten.
Pre-K Timeline
- Based on TEA policies, the applications for Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 open on April 1 each year.
- Applications are processed on a rolling basis.
- Any families who have a completed Pre-K application, including supporting documentation, by May 22, 2026, will receive an eligibility determination by June 3, 2026.
- The possible outcomes for a completed Pre-K application:
- Student is eligible for free Pre-K and is offered a seat.
- Student is eligible for free Pre-K, however there isn’t capacity at the campuses applied to, student placed on waitlist(s) and offered support to find a seat
- Student is not eligible for free Pre-K and is offered a tuition seat
- Student is not eligible for free Pre-K however there isn’t capacity at the campuses applied to, student placed on waitlist (s).
